What is a Naturopath?

Naturopaths work to understand the connectivity between the many and varied symptoms you present with and find the ‘root cause’ of these, whether to do with physical or mental health or a combination of both which is so common to many of us.

Detection comes through building a comprehensive profile of the person using diagnostic and functional tools. Once the cause is established, the Naturopath can employ a range of ‘natural’ modalities in their approach. My specialism is Nutrition and I particularly favour the functional medicine approach, but I can also employ herbal medicine, homeopathy, Bach flowers, traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture in supporting people to achieve and optimes their health.

One of the main principles of naturopathy is that everyone is different – genetically, biochemically, structurally and psychologically. As such, we all respond differently to our environment and life’s challenges.

The naturopaths’ approach is therefore tailored to the person, not driven by any specific disease or condition. It promotes and supports the body’s ability to restore, maintain and optimise, restore and maintain our physiological, physical, and mental/emotional health.

Through investigations, they will seek to identify the root causes of your ill health and/ or limitations or barriers in performance and means you have the best opportunity to reach your optimal potential!
