Meet Amelia

 Helen Cahalane

Hello and Welcome,

I am Helen, and I have been a qualified Naturopath/Nutritionist for many years. My passion is to support people to optimise their health and wellbeing potential which fits with the principles of Naturopathy perfectly.

Having lived in Cornwall for many years, I recently moved back to Wales and have set up clinical practice here for face to face consultations. I am really excited to be in a geographical location where I can achieve a greater reach for both face to face and online solutions for individuals, groups and corporate/business packages across the UK.

For me, the mission of any Naturopath is to find the root cause of the many symptoms people present with. Uncovering the 'evidence' using investigative techniques that all naturopaths employ, along with some possible ‘forensic’ (clinical) testing builds a picture of what support you need and so my new name as The Naturopathic Detective seemed very apt!

I hope it also reflects my personal approach…I see the ‘whole’ person, understand their life challenges, am always inclusive and non judgemental in my approach whilst also seeking to make your journey to optimal health and performance fun and enjoyable!..

Despite my practice name, my role is not to charge anyone with the crime of not living to their greatest potential, but rather facilitate your ‘pathway to positive health’ using the power of Naturopathy..

I look forward to meeting many of you in the exciting times ahead.

What is a Naturopath?

Naturopaths work to understand the connectivity between the many and varied symptoms you present with and find the ‘root cause’ of these, whether to do with physical or mental health or a combination of both.

Detection comes through building a comprehensive profile of the person using diagnostic and functional tools and once the cause is established, the Naturopath then employs a range of ‘natural’ modalities in their approach.

My specialism is Nutrition and I particularly favour the functional medicine approach, but I can also employ herbal medicine, homeopathy, Bach flowers, traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture to support people in optimising their health.

One of the main principles of naturopathy is that everyone is different – genetically, biochemically, structurally and psychologically. As such, we all respond differently to our environment and life’s challenges.

The naturopaths’ approach is therefore tailored to the person, not driven by any specific disease or condition. It promotes and supports the body’s ability to restore, maintain and optimise, restore and maintain our physiological, physical, and mental/emotional health.

Through investigations, they will seek to identify the root causes of your ill health and/ or limitations or barriers in performance and means you have the best opportunity to reach your optimal potential!

Who do we work with?

We support people with a range of conditions, but we also support a wide range of different people from all walks of life.  Clients can be adults of any age, young people or children – with the latter coming to see us with parental consent and support.

We have worked with people with mental health problems and diagnoses of mental illness, those who are neurodiverse, those with allergies or conditions to a wide range of people with physical health issues whether acute or chronic. Often, people present not knowing what is wrong, but with a range of concerning, seemingly unrelated symptoms as their reason for contact.

However, seeing a Naturopath is not contained to tackling ill health or disease related conditions alone and many people we support are ‘well and functioning’ but say something is ‘missing’ and they know they can achieve more – whether looking to optimise their sporting performance or work based performance..

Whatever the reason, a FREE Discovery Call will enable you to decide if seeing a Naturopath is something that will benefit you…
